ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS Q & A

What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are a minimally invasive treatment designed to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles. They are commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet around the eyes. The treatment can help create a smoother, fresher and more youthful appearance while maintaining natural facial expression. At SVP Aesthetic, every treatment is carefully tailored to your facial features and individual goals, with a focus on subtle, natural-looking results.

What areas can Anti-Wrinkle Injections treat?

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to reduce the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial muscle movement. Treatment is tailored to your individual facial anatomy, muscle activity and aesthetic goals.

Common treatment areas include:

  • Forehead lines that develop when raising the eyebrows.
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows, often referred to as “11 lines”.
  • Crow’s feet around the outer corners of the eyes.
  • Other appropriate areas where treatment may be considered following an individual medical assessment.

During your consultation at SVP Aesthetic, Dr. Stoyanka Petkova will assess your facial anatomy and muscle movement to determine whether anti-wrinkle treatment is appropriate for you. The treatment plan is designed to soften expression lines while maintaining natural facial movement, expression and balance.

Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections hurt?

Anti-wrinkle injections are performed using a very fine needle and most patients experience only mild, brief discomfort at the injection sites. The sensation is often described as a small pinch and the treatment itself usually takes only a short time. Temporary redness, tenderness or slight swelling may occur immediately afterwards and usually settles quickly.

How long do Anti-Wrinkle Injections last?

The effects of anti-wrinkle injections develop gradually. Some patients may begin to notice a change within a few days, with the full effect generally assessed around two weeks after treatment. The duration of the results varies between individuals and depends on factors such as the treatment area, muscle activity, dose and individual response. For many patients, the effects last approximately 3–4 months before muscle activity gradually returns and expression lines may become more noticeable again.

Dr. Stoyanka Petkova will advise you on appropriate follow-up and future treatment based on your individual response and aesthetic goals.

How many Anti-Wrinkle Injections will I need?

There is no fixed number of injections required for anti-wrinkle treatment. The number of injection points and the amount of product used depend on the treatment area, your facial anatomy, muscle strength, existing lines and the result you would like to achieve. During your consultation, Dr. Stoyanka Petkova will assess your facial expressions and muscle movement before creating an individual treatment plan. The aim is to soften unwanted lines while preserving natural expression and facial balance.

What are the possible side effects of Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are generally well tolerated, but as with any medical treatment, side effects can occur. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites are among the most common reactions. Some patients may experience a headache following treatment. Less common effects can include temporary facial asymmetry or drooping of the eyebrow or eyelid, depending on the area treated. Serious reactions are rare. Before treatment, Dr. Stoyanka Petkova will discuss the potential risks, your medical history and appropriate aftercare with you.
